The click of a thermostat, heating cells and cooling fans that contradict each other, the incandescence of a filament. Temperature fluctuations deform the materials which begin to resonate, then fall back into expectation. Heat as an agent at work around us; its effects become tangible. This testing ground is also a continuous performance zone. Anne-F Jacques will come sporadically to adjust, modify and disrupt the systems in place.
Anne-F Jacques est une artiste sonore travaillant à Montréal. Elle s'intéresse à l'amplification, aux interactions obliques entre matériaux et à la construction de divers systèmes et assemblages idiosyncratiques. Son (in)attention se concentre plus particulièrement sur les technologies légères, les objets banals et les sons rugueux. Son travail a été présenté par le Festival Tsonami (Chili), Experimental Intermedia (New York), L'Écart (Rouyn-Noranda), Ftarri (Tokyo), CTM Festival (Berlin), Umbral (México), CENTRALE for contemporary art (Bruxelles), Centre Clark (Montréal) et Sonandes (La Paz).
